Action Competency

Action competency comprises all abilities, skills, knowledge and experience of a person which enable him/her to actively self-organise and master practical tasks appropriately, purposefully, adequately to the situation and responsibly.

Action competency means:
  • The ability to recognise a situation and the necessity of action
  • The technical knowledge and ability as a basis for making decisions
  • The ability to weigh risks
  • Assertiveness
  • The ability to control

Vocational action competency
The development of vocational action competency is important due to the processes of change and the attendant changes in requirements. Vocational action competency can be assessed in its application in the concrete vocational work. It is the task of the enterprise to define, assess and confirm it and develop it further.
